I completed a doctorate in Psychology at Michigan State University. I interned at Massachusetts Mental Health Center and had a postdoctoral fellowship at the Menninger Clinic. I see individual adults by telehealth. I have had many years of experience in many different settings, and I have learned several forms of psychotherapy over the years.

I find that mindfulness-based therapy is helpful for dealing with a wide variety of problems. The essence of this approach involves acknowledging what is actually going on, accepting it in the sense of understanding that things need to be the way they are now for good reasons, and using that understanding to make positive changes in your life.

This approach is similar to the “Serenity Prayer,” “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.” These principles can be helpful in addressing anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and work/career issues. I believe in the importance of client’s input which means that whatever we do together is tailored to the client’s abilities and goals.
