Checking Your Insurance Coverage

To determine whether your insurance plan covers our services, we recommend asking your provider the following:

  • For therapy sessions: Is procedure code 90834 or 90837 (psychotherapy) covered?

  • For neuropsychological evaluations: Is procedure code 96132 (neuropsychological testing) covered?

  • Do I have a copay, deductible, or coinsurance for mental health services?

  • Is a referral or prior authorization required?

Important Notes on Insurance Coverage

  • If your plan requires a referral, it is your responsibility to obtain one from your primary care physician before your appointment.

  • Some insurance companies may initially state that a referral isn’t needed but later deny coverage due to the lack of a referral. To avoid unexpected costs, we strongly recommend securing a referral before any neuropsychological evaluation.

  • We will discuss any questions or concerns about your benefits with you before scheduling an appointment.
