Assessment Proccess

The journey to understanding begins with a neurobehavioral assessment at PPA. We’re here to guide you with care, expertise, and collaboration, ensuring you and your child feel valued and supported throughout the process.

What to Expect During the Assessment

Your session will be conducted by a psychologist trained in evaluating how the brain influences behavior, often with the assistance of a skilled team member. Occasionally, an observer may join for training purposes, with your consent.

  • Initial Interview: We’ll start by gathering background information and discussing your concerns. For children, we may also speak with a parent, teacher, or caregiver for additional insights.

  • Evaluation Tasks: You or your child will complete activities like answering questions, solving puzzles, or working with paper-and-pencil tasks. These are designed to evaluate areas like memory, attention, and problem-solving.

  • Breaks: Sessions typically last two to three hours, with breaks as needed for comfort.

How to Prepare

To make the most of your session, come well-rested and bring any tools you use daily, like glasses. A light snack or water is also encouraged.

After the Assessment

You’ll leave with initial feedback and a sense of what’s next. A comprehensive report will follow, offering a clear picture of strengths, challenges, and personalized recommendations for growth and success.

Our assessments are led by a team of highly skilled psychologists and specialists with expertise in understanding the brain-behavior connection.
